Susan Hay

Meet the Artist

Susan Hay is a floral and botanical watercolour artist whose creative life has evolved alongside design, business, and motherhood. A lifelong maker, she began her career in graphic design, spending over twenty years working in the industry before stepping away to reconnect with the creative process itself.

After founding and later selling her own publishing business, Susan made a conscious decision to return to painting, not as a side project, but as a central part of her life. Her work reflects years of experience, a deep love of colour and pattern, and a renewed respect for creativity as something meaningful, sustainable, and personal.

Susan’s story reminds us that it is never too late to choose yourself. You do not have to follow a path just because it is expected of you. You are allowed to change direction, to say no, and to begin again.

Susan’s journey is a reminder of how powerful it can be to listen to yourself and choose a different path. Her journey shows that creativity does not disappear, it waits. And when you return to it, it can reshape your life in ways you never imagined.
